Adam Gomaa has an interesting posting about conceptual integrity and how it applies to web frameworks like Django and Pylons. I think there are lessons for Satchmo here.

I submitted a proposal for a Pycon talk on Satchmo but it was not accepted. However, the reviewer comments had some really nice praise for Satchmo.
